Do you ever start doing something on a day that is really good for remembering in particular without thinking about it? Well that was me today. I will openly admit that I didn't even think about it being the anniversary date of when the twin towers went down. To be honest I just got up and thought oh well off to school. I think part of it is I try really not to think about that day and it's not because I knew someone who was hurt in the towers but because I knew people who knew people and saw how hurt and affected they were by it. I don't want to remember that sort of pain, I want to remember that those people much like others are gone by not forgotten. I've been working with the subject of dead celebrities for about two years now. I know, slightly morbid, but that's been my main focus. I've compiled print after print to basically get my point across and currently I have ......9 whole prints and a few more to go. The ones not printed up involve The Rat Pack, minus Frank who I think I might add in now, Lucy and Desi, Jimmy Stewart, and John Wayne. I still need to figure out how to incorporate Marlon Brando too and fix my Judy Garland one. As you can tell I'm not at a loss for ideas, it's just executing them that takes forever. They're complicated to say the least. And in fact three of those ten I have a feeling I'm going to reconstruct and try to reprint two entirely and the one, the one just isn't there yet. It needs one more screen to be honest. I know it sounds crazy to those who don't screen print but it needs a tan color gosh darn it and one day it will have it if I ever figure out how to do so. Gene Kelly, Donald O'Connor, and Jean Hagen are being stubborn in their print! The quality of the photographs could be better but for now they shall do.
